Lady Bird Lake or as the locals still call it, Town Lake, is a great place to go and catch some nice bass while enjoying calmer waters in the center of Austin as most boats are not allowed to use their gas engines here. This lake has some very nice sized largemouth bass and it's the best jig lake around if you like throwing those. It's also a great place to throw big swimbaits, Alabama rigs and other lunker bass lures. Fishing at night can also be pleasant although I probably wouldn't trust my vehicle sitting out in the dark near the lake. I've won plenty of bass club tournaments on this lake and know where the big ones live if you ever want to try for some here. This is a slot limit lake as well so anything you catch between 14 and 24 inches, you can snap a quick pic and let them go. I wouldn't ever keep anything from these waters anyway since it runs through downtown and I wouldn't trust it would be safe to eat.
