Choke Canyon has been one of the very best lakes in the country in the last 20+ years. Unfortunately, the ones in charge of this lake have very much mismanaged it and the drought they have had on top of that has dried it up quite a lot. If you can get on this lake by kayak or other means, I'm sure you could get into some great fishing right now. Back in the late 2000s like 2008 and 2009, this was the very best lake in the country for having the best chance at catching a double digit bass. There have been several tournaments won with over 40 pounds best 5 and some giant bass weighed in for big bass that were over 15 pounds. Quite the magical lake indeed. When this lake fills back up, watch out. You better be getting to it for your chance at some giants. I would be happy to put you on those super sized bass when that happens. For now, there are plenty of other lakes where we can go.
