Inks Lake can be one of the best lakes in central Texas, especially in the springtime around the spawn and early summer where the topwater and frog bite really turn on. I've been fishing this lake for over 50 years and have seen a lot of big fish come out of it during that time. It's not a very big lake at all and you can pretty much fish it how you like, whether flipping docks, flipping hard woods, working over rock piles and ledges and throwing frogs and flukes around any cover. A shaky head thrown around rock piles can produce some nice Guadalupe bass as well. There are big catfish and even some striper in the lake also. If you are looking for a place to fish from the bank, there are lots of places around the shore in the State Park that produce.
