This lake is a little gem between the more popular lakes, Travis and LBJ. It consists of shallow areas on the north end that has grass and flats where more topwater and moving baits seem to be best and at the lower end, which is much deeper, deep cranks and jigs seem to work best working the many ledges and rock cliffs. Docks are also a great place to flip under and around to catch some nice bass. There have been a lot of good quality bass caught from this reservoir. In the springtime, I've seen best 5 limits weighing over 30 pounds, so there's always a chance at some big fish here. Like all the highland lakes chain, you can also find Guadalupe bass, catfish, white bass and panfish like bluegill and crappie. The recreational traffic here is very low so the fishing is much more relaxing throughout the day.
